Early this Sunday, August 23, Fiorentina reported through Twitter that two players from its squad have tested positive for Covid-19, among them is the national midfielder Erick Pulgar.
“ACF Fiorentina announces that players Erick Pulgar and Simone Ghidotti tested positive for Covid-19 after the preliminary tests carried out yesterday afternoon ”, they indicated.

The statement also informs that the players were isolated to begin their treatments and they will be constantly monitored to know their state of health. Despite the two confirmed cases, the rest of the staff will continue with their activities as normal.
The confirmation of Fiorentina increases the uncertainty about the start of the new season of Serie A that is dated for next September 19, since other teams have also detected an increase in infections in their squads.
