Thule recalls roof rack: In the worst case, it can come loose and fall off the car

It is not exactly uncommon for car manufacturers to have to recall models.

What has often happened then is that faults or weaknesses have been discovered in one or more parts of the car. Thus, the owners are told to stop by a dealer, so that this can be rectified.

But even those who supply equipment for the cars can experience this. Thule is now going out with a recall. In the worst case, the current fault can cause the roof rack system to come loose. This can of course have scary consequences in traffic.

– We must inform you that Thule Rapid Fixpoint XT Kits, for mounting the Thule roof rack system, with the following product numbers 3049, 3073, 3123, 3130, 3136 and 3144, purchased after 16 December 2019 with a specific adaptation for the car brands listed below, constitute a risk that the roof rack system can partially or completely detach from the car’s roof, Thule writes on its own website.

Specifically, these are bolts that are too small, this can pose a risk that the roof rack system is not fastened properly and can in certain circumstances lead to it partially or completely coming loose from the roof while driving.
