Throne and Liberty Receives Good Reviews After Debut in Korea

The launch of Throne and Liberty in South Korea on Thursday was, as expected, a big deal. Correction: too big of an event because NCSoft incorrectly estimated the number of applicants (what a surprise), which led to a rather large problem with queues.

Just a few hours after the opening, the creation of new characters had to be blocked on the leading servers. NCSoft eventually opened up new worlds by increasing the power of existing servers.

However, it is worth rejoicing that the popularity of Throne and Liberty is also accompanied by quality.

Having improved character leveling, redesigned the interface, removed the auto-battle function and completely redesigned the combat system, Throne and Liberty is receiving very good reviews from its players (Korean and Western, who bought/created an account using a VPN).

People praise the excellent optimization, vibrant open world, stunning graphics (this is one of the most beautiful MMORPGs on the market) and cool gameplay, which may not be next-gen, but is a nod to the classic representatives of the genre.

The game is amazing and works great. It’s impressive what they’ve accomplished compared to other MMORPGs on UE4.

They’ve brought Massive back into the MMORPG, there are a lot of people everywhere, and thanks to the well-implemented technical engine, you can easily see on screen 50-100+ people in a city, doing quests and so on.

The world seems alive. It is very detailed, the music is unusual and seems polished.

Combat was a very important factor for me, whether I tried it or not. I liked the combat the most in MMORPG where there was more action than tabs, I liked the combat in GW2 the most and I have to say that this game is a bit like Rift and GW2 mixed together.

The game feels very polished. Great attention to detail. It’s not perfect, but it definitely looks like the developers spent a lot of time on it.

For some reason, many of the characters’ skills and moves look exactly how I remember them from L2. For me this is a plus.

The English-language Throne and Liberty will appear sometime in 2024. The version will be shareware and will be distributed by Amazon Games (New World).
