With 70 cars on the track, this 75th edition of the 24 Hours of Spa promises to be thrilling! Qualifying has already had some surprises in store for us with Matteo Cairoli’s pole in a Huber Motorsport Porsche.

Rain fell on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit before the start and race management decided to give the start behind the safety car. Despite this, Kyle Washington (Porsche 911 GT3 #132 GMG Racing) came off the track at the top of the steep slope on the 3rd lap! Several competitors took advantage of the twenty minutes behind the safety car to shift their strategies. Matteo Cairoli retained control at the end of this first hour of racing while the BMW M4 GT3s made a good comeback.
The #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 then held the race lead briefly before losing a lap due to a brake problem. The #51 AF Corse-Francorchamps Motors Ferrari 296 GT3 also took the lead before a right-rear puncture. All this benefits the Audi R8 LMS GT3 clan! After 2 hours of racing, Mattia Drudi (Audi R8 LMS GT3 #40 Tresor Orange1) is in the lead ahead of Kelvin van der Linde (Audi R8 LMS GT3 #17 Scherer Sport PHX).
The following hours allow us to have a great fight between Nicki Thiim (Audi R8 LMS GT3 #17 Scherer Sport PHX) and Kévin Estre (Porsche 911 GT3 #92 Manthey EMA)! Estre then leaves the wheel to his compatriot Julien Andlauer who does a huge job as night falls in Spa.
After 6 hours of racing, Charles Weerts (BMW M4 GT3 #32 WRT) is in the lead ahead of Luca Engstler (Audi R8 LMS GT3 #17 Scherer Sport PHX) by less than 4″. Quietly, Raffaele Marciello (Mercedes AMG GT3 #88 Akkodis-ASP Team) moved up to third ahead of the #998 ROWE Racing BMW M4 GT3 and the #92 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3. Davide Rigon (Ferrari 296 GT3 #71 AF Corse-Francorchamps Motors) is in 7th place, note that the beautiful Italian started from 47th position!
