Young apprentices from the Lorraine training center of the Union des Industries et Métiers de la Métallurgie have just been awarded prizes at the 46th Olympiades des Métiers. Thierry Humbert and Nicolas Schwing won the gold medal in their respective categories. Gaël Schaeffer returned with a Medal of Excellence.
The 46th Olympiad des Métiers ended on January 15 in Lyon (Rhône). Three young apprentices from Lorraine were crowned in their respective categories: industrial production, turning and milling.
Two gold medals and a medal of excellence offer training for industrial trades in Lorraine a fine showcase. These apprentices are thus the ambassadors of regional industrial apprenticeship. They were able to shine in the midst of 600 competitors from fourteen French regions.
For Thierry Humbert, gold medal in the “Industrial Production” category and Nicolas Schwing in the “Shooting” category, the road continues, they will defend the colors of France in Shanghai (China) from October 12 to 17, 2022 for the international competition.
Nicolas Schwing and Thierry Humbert therefore won gold at these 46th Olympiad. A real recognition for these pure products of the “made-in Lorraine” training. They were apprentices at the Yutz (Moselle) site of the UIMM Lorraine Training Center until the last start of the school year.
Nicolas Schwing, who distinguished himself in the “Milling” category, is continuing his degree course. Thierry Humbert, gold medalist in the “Industrial Production” category, for his part, entered the workforce.
