IDXChannel – Chinese tech giant, Tencent, announce PUBG Mobile penetrated 1 billion downloads since it was first released three years ago. This is called Tencent as a milestone in the company’s history because it succeeded in spawning a game that was loved by billions of people in the world.
The Battle Royale genre itself is a version of the game where a group of players fight each other until 1 player is left alive and becomes the winner.
According to the latest data from analytic firm Sensor Tower, there are still two other game titles that have been able to outperform PUBG Mobile’s 1 million downloads since its launch.
The games are Subway Surfers from Kiloo Games and Candy Crush Saga from King Digital Entertainment. Both are casual titles that are relatively easy to play and grab the attention of audiences.
“PUBG Mobile, which has reached 1 billion downloads, shows that games with the battle royale genre can be successful on both desktop and mobile,” explained analyst Daniel Ahmad, quoted from Gizmochina, Friday (26/3/2021). (TYO)
