The apartments seized from Eden Roc as part of the Karim Wade case will be on sale this Tuesday, July 21, 2020, and the operation will be closed on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. But this is not a first because in 2017 already, the Direction des Domaines had already put these apartments up for sale. Or two years after the sentencing of Karim Wade and his main co-accused Ibrahima Khalil Bourgi to 6 and 5 year terms. Only at this time when Mamour Diallo was still Director of the Domains, the Head of State wanted this sale operation to be carried out as legally as possible. Potential buyers had to be citizens who were not involved in any management of public goods. As a reminder, in its judgment No. 02/2015 of March 23, 2015, the Court of Suppression of Illicit Enrichment (CREI) had ordered the confiscation of several movable, immovable, divided or undivided assets. These apartments had been confiscated in this context.
