On Thursday, police said a three-year-old boy had been found dead in an alley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Last week, his mother was found dead.
Major Harris (3) was found in the northern part of the city, after a so-called “Amber alert”, or search warrant, had been sent out, after the three-year-old had disappeared without a trace.
The body of the little boy was found in a container near some rubbish bins in an alley.
On Friday, the police went out with the results from the autopsy report, where it appears that Harris died of a shot to the head.

– It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform that we have unfortunately found Major Harris dead. This is an ongoing investigation, and a case that is confusing at this time. My heart and condolences go out to the family, Milwaukee Police Inspector Jeffrey Clark told a news conference on Tuesday, according to the Independent.
Harris was last seen on October 9 – four days after his mother, 25-year-old Mallery Muenzenberger, was killed. She was found last Thursday with several gunshot wounds.
Three-year-old found after three days
A 20-year-old man is considered to be suspected in the case of Harris’ disappearance and “a person of interest” in the murder of his mother. The man himself was found dead last Sunday, according to the TV channel Wbay.
Police have arrested six other people in the case, but they have not publicly identified any of those suspected.
– Heartbreaking to say goodbye
Muenzenberger’s family has said in a statement that she was a victim of domestic violence. They have not chosen to comment further on the details of the case, as it is still under investigation, according to Fox 6.
– It is heartbreaking to have to prepare ourselves to say our last goodbye to Mallery which was taken from us in such a brutal way. When we looked through her things, we came across a school project she had in high school. There she had chosen to write about raising awareness of domestic violence. Mallery himself died as a result of domestic violence in October, which is the month for awareness of domestic violence, the statement from the family states.

The family has not made a public statement about the three-year-old’s death.
Major’s father, Carlton Harris, immediately left his home in West Virginia for Wisconsin when he learned that his son was missing and that Muenzenberger had been killed. He also participated in the search for the three-year-old.
Harris described his son as a happy, energetic boy who always smiled.
Missed since June
On Thursday, he learned that his son had been found dead. According to a reporter from WISN-TV, he collapsed in grief when he received the heavy message.
The police have stated that they started the search for Major immediately after it was known that he had disappeared. They also state that “amber alert” was sent out in early October.
