Three Typhoons Heading North: Typhoon Haikui, Wild Goose, and Saola Interacting

Along with the strong autumn rainy season, typhoons are moving north at the same time in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula.

Following the 11th ‘Haikui’, the 12th typhoon ‘Wild Goose’ occurred and is coming up.

Although the typhoon path is still flexible, it is expected that the Korean Peninsula will be indirectly affected from the weekend at the earliest.

In the northeast of Guam, even the 12th typhoon ‘Geese’ occurred.

In the Northwest Pacific alone, three typhoons are moving north at the same time.

Among them, Typhoon No. 11 is speeding toward the Korean Peninsula.

‘Haikui’ crosses the sea south of Okinawa, Japan, and comes up to the East China Sea on weekends.

A large amount of water vapor from the typhoon flows into the Korean Peninsula, so there is a possibility of strong rain falling throughout weekends and holidays.

Typhoon ‘Haikui’ is expected to advance to the sea near Shanghai, China early next week.

However, the final path is still very fluid.

This is because while the 11th typhoon has the possibility of interacting with the 9th typhoon Saola, it can shake the course while heading north to the 12th ‘goose’.

<박정민 / 기상청 예보분석관> “I can tell you that typhoons are located at such a close distance that they can interact. Typhoon No. 11 ‘Haikui’, which is moving in the middle, is expected to receive an interaction.”

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that the route is very uncertain as three typhoons head north, and asked to refer to the latest weather information.
