Three trucks loaded with mattresses, furniture and second-hand clothes were turned away from the border, at the Petea customs, because the drivers could not present the legal documents, the Territorial Inspectorate of Border Police (ITPF) Sighetu Marmaţiei informs on Sunday, reports Agerpres.
According to the source cited, a 54-year-old Romanian driver would have presented himself upon entering the country, driving a truck registered in Romania, which, according to the documents accompanying the goods, was carrying 8,900 kg of second-hand products (furniture, used clothes and electronics), from an association in Austria to another association in the county of Satu Mare.
“The border police requested the authorized support of the workers of the District Commissioner for Consumer Protection Satu Mare, who established that the transported goods cannot enter the territory of Romania, as the goods do not correspond to the cleaning operations, disinfection and disinfestation,” says the source cited.
At the same border crossing, two citizens presented themselves to enter the country: a Romanian, aged 43, and a Dutchman, aged 74, each driving a truck registered in Romania, respectively in the Netherlands. They were carrying, according to the documents accompanying the goods, 2,240 kg of second-hand mattresses and 300 kg of used clothing), destined for some companies in Botoşani and Satu Mare counties.
Also in this case, the border police requested the authorized support of the operators of the Commissioner for Consumer Protection of the County of Satu Mare, who established that the transported goods cannot enter the territory of Romania, as the goods do not correspond for cleaning, disinfection and disinfestation operations.
In all three cases, the control authorities decided not to allow the transported goods to enter the territory of Romania, being returned to the Hungarian territory.
