Three things to know about the recovery and ecological transition contract for the Pays de la vallée de Montluçon et du Cher (Allier)

At the time of the signing of this territorial contract for recovery and ecological transition (CRTE), Jean-Francis Treffel, the prefect of Allier, spoke of a “turning point for relations between the State and the communities”.

The purpose of these CRTEs is to bring together all the aid that the territories can benefit from to carry out their “structuring” projects. Whether they have already begun or are still being considered.

The seventh CRTE signed in the Allier

This contract is the seventh to be signed in the Allier, but the first on such a large scale since it brings together the 90 municipalities of the territorial and rural balance center (PETR) of the Pays de la Vallée de Montluçon et du Cher. Five intermunicipalities are involved: Montluçon community, the community of communes of Pays de Tronçais, Commentry Montmarault Néris community, the community of communes of Val de Cher and the community of communes of Pays d’Huriel.

In concrete terms, this means that the borough’s intermunicipalities have agreed to work together on their priorities. “In coherence and cohesion”, indicated Samir Triki, the president of the PETR.

A steering committee will be responsible for bringing the projects to fruition.

A steering committee will be created to support these projects and mobilize the financial aid that goes with them. “The idea is that the State supports the various ecological, economic, demographic or digital transitions, specified the prefect, so as to harmonize the national objectives with the objectives of the territories”.

The areas of work selected

Among the axes retained, the presenter of the State cited the “industrial reconquest”, the “revitalization of urban centers” and the “revitalization of city centers and town centers”, actions “in the field of health with aid for the installation of health professionals”, but also actions “in the field of biodiversity” and “heritage enhancement”.

So far, no figures have been given. State aid will depend on the projects carried out, but the prefect spoke of “promising financing”.
