The boys were sentenced to ten, nine and eight years in prison in Helsinki District Court on Friday.
The penalty is somewhat lower than the prosecutor’s claim for all three, reports Finnish Yle.
The murder took place in a hospital area in Forsby in Helsinki. According to the district court, the convicted teenagers must have understood that the boy would die from the abuse, which lasted for over three hours.
All the boys were born in 2004. They pleaded not guilty to murder, but two of them admitted grievous bodily harm resulting in death. The third has only pleaded guilty to the abuse.
