Gernsbach (Baden-Württemberg) – A framed photo of three children stands next to candles and tulips, leaning against a burned down house in the Black Forest village of Gernsbach (Baden-Württemberg). Amelia (4), Alessio (8) and Adelin (14) smile at the camera.
But their parents will never hear that child’s laughter again. The three siblings died in a terrible house fire.
It was Thursday night when neighbors were roused from their sleep by screams. Around 2 a.m., smoke came out of an apartment building.
“Young men sat on the roof, their legs dangling over the gutter. You wrote for help. It was fruitful,” says a neighbor (64) to BILD.
Firefighters and local residents put up a ladder, saving the lives of the men and a baby.
In total, the fire brigade was able to save six people, including a small child (1), using the ladder from the roof. But for the three children, who lived with their parents and three siblings on the top floor, any help came too late.
A day after the accident, mother Adelina B. lit candles for her deceased children. At the time of the fire, the mother was with her family in Romania. She must have received the news of the death of her own children over the phone.
A relative told BILD that she drove back to Germany that night. Through tears he says: “Our angels have been taken from us.”
The family and their six children actually wanted to celebrate Easter this weekend. In Romania, the festival is celebrated a week later than in Germany.
Now parents have to say goodbye forever to their beloved children, siblings understand that there are no longer six of them.
A neighbor (64): “The family is very nice. For example, the father and two sons helped me when I cleaned up a delivery of wood pellets. Without me asking her to. I gave little Amelia two cuddly toys for Easter.”
More than 125 emergency services were on site at the fire. Authorities believe the condition of the burned down building could make it difficult to determine the cause of the fire.
The flames were preceded by a dispute
However, there is already a trace: The fire is said to have been preceded by a dispute between two women and a man. According to the police, two families who lived in the house celebrated together in the evening. It should have come to disputes, which were then continued on the street.
When the alarmed police arrived on site, the house was already ablaze. A connection is currently being examined.
