Follow-up economic circles confirmed that “Lebanon needs to implement three rescue plans, and everyone must sit at the table and talk about it, otherwise there is no ceiling on the exchange rate of the dollar.”
In an interview with the “Lebanon Debate”, Al-Awsat said: “As long as the balance of payments is negative and the state is faltering, the deterioration in the lira will not stop because the Banque du Liban will, of course, continue.”
She added, “This requires a radical administrative solution, through a plan to restructure the departments, and develop a financial monetary plan and a tax plan.”
And she continued, “The market today is not large, and after the exchange rate reached 65,000 pounds per dollar, it became possible to buy all the monetary mass for a billion dollars, while many dollars were pumped in the past.”
The circles concluded by saying: “The strength of the dollar in the market has become very high today, and therefore the deterioration today has become accelerating, and when the exchange rate becomes 100 thousand pounds or more, the deterioration will be faster and stronger.”
