AMERSFOORT Up to and including last Sunday, about 22.3 million corona shots have been taken. This means that almost 75 percent of all adults have now received a full vaccination. Nearly 85 percent have received a first shot, according to figures from the RIVM that were published today, Wednesday, August 18.
In the municipality of Amersfoort, 75 to 84 percent of all adults have had a first injection. 60 to 74 percent of all adult residents have now been fully vaccinated. This corresponds to surrounding municipalities such as Nijkerk, Leusden, Soest and Baarn. In Barneveld and Bunschoten the complete vaccination coverage is lower, namely 40 to 59 percent.
It is striking that nationally, the percentage of fully vaccinated people in the age category >1996 is higher (60 to 74 percent) than among people born between 1976 and 1995 (40 – 59 percent). This is also the case in the municipality of Amersfoort. The municipality of Urk has the lowest vaccination rate, as only 20 to 39 percent of all adults are fully vaccinated there.
YOUTH Anyone aged 12 years or older is eligible for vaccination. According to the RIVM, the turnout for a first vaccination is no longer increasing in most age groups. There will still be first vaccinations per age group, but that number is small in the total. A small increase can be seen in the youngest age groups. Of all young people born in 2004 to 2009, 46 percent have now received their first vaccination. Young people who were born in 2009, but have yet to turn 12, cannot make an appointment yet. If they are not included, the turnout among the 12-17 year olds is currently 49 percent.
INCREASED The vaccination rate indicates which age groups have received two vaccinations or one vaccination from Janssen. The vaccination rate among young people has increased further. The 12-17 year olds have a vaccination rate of 14 percent. That is 15 percent if the young people from 2009 who still have to turn 12 years are not included. Vaccination coverage has risen to 49 percent for 18-25 year olds and 52 percent for 26-30 year olds. In the age group of 30 to 39 years, the vaccination coverage has also increased somewhat. From the age of 40, the vaccination rate stabilizes or increases slightly.
The interactive map below shows the vaccination rate per municipality and per age category.
