“BSP for Bulgaria”, “Democratic Bulgaria” and “Bulgarian Rise” responded to the invitation of “We Continue the Change” (PP) for a meeting in connection with the second term to form a government and national priorities.
BSP will not support the proposed draft decision,
together with this, we confirm our readiness to conduct a constructive dialogue, which under certain conditions could lead to the election of a regular government within the framework of the 48th National Assembly. This was stated by Christian Vigenin, who presented the decision to the Party Executive Office during the meeting with “Continue the change”, BTA reported.
Vigenin noted that GERB, DPS and “Vazrazhdane” have a total of 127 people’s representatives,
who are not here and not participating in conversations. The three formations have so far not entered into a dialogue with “Continuing the change”, which leads us to conclude that they have no intention of supporting any declaration of priorities and supporting a government with a second term, he commented.
Vigenin stressed that they share the main goals set in the project,
namely, to develop a competitive and innovative economy, ensure national security and the rule of law, achieve energy independence, reduce social inequalities and access to quality health care and education.
However, there are proposals in the draft text that we do not agree with. We cannot compromise on them, and at this stage, in our opinion, they cannot be removed or corrected, Vigenin stressed.
Nikolay Denkov, appointed by “Continuing the Change” to Prime Minister, commented that the problems are mainly in two directions
– one is mainly related to the attitude towards the war in Ukraine and the position of Bulgaria in this conflict, and the second is related to the electoral process. We have discussed and looked for solutions, this is your decision and we respect it. Just as you left the door open for further discussion, you will be met with the same understanding from us, Denkov stressed.
PP proposes four national goals around which parties should unite
At the meeting, the party presented its blueprint, which includes four national policies.
The goal was for politicians to debate to what extent they are ready to support him. This was announced today by the candidate for prime minister of “Let’s continue the change”, academician Nikolay Denkov, after having received from President Rumen Radev the second mandate to form a cabinet.
“We have prepared the document. GERB and DPS invite them again. This is the last time they can come, say their considerations. If they have proposals for changes and they are acceptable to the other participants in the meeting,” he added.
At the first meeting with his political opponents, in which GERB and DPS left the room, Denkov commented:
“The first meeting I would say was quite emotional. I’ve already forgotten that. It means I’m interested in what can be done for the future. I’m not interested in petty name-calling. I passed this level a long time ago.” , was categorical Denkov, quoted by DarikNews.bg
Radev handed over second term to form government to ‘continue change’
“The cabinet formula will have serious political support. So far we have not discussed names with any political power. Also with DB. We have given examples to the media that we would be happy to get involved. If we start talking about names, then the conversation will move away from what we consider the most important”. So Denkov answered a question about possible ministerial posts under discussion with other parties.
Today, President Rumen Radev handed over the second exploratory mandate for the formation of a government to PP academician Nikolay Denkov, candidate for the post of prime minister. The PP invited the parliamentary parties to a meeting and presented the National Assembly with a draft decision to determine priority national goals and tasks before the 48th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and the necessary measures to achieve them.
“Continue the change” proposes that all parties represented in parliament unite around four national goals.
