A tragic accident on the A5 Tullyvar road just outside Aughnacloy in Co Tyrone has claimed the lives of three people and resulted in four others being rushed to hospital. The crash involved a minibus and a lorry, and occurred early in the morning on Thursday, April 27, 2023. The victims were from the Strabane area, and the local community is said to be “devastated” by the tragedy. Sinn Féin MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Colm Gildernew, has extended his sympathies to the families and called for the completion of the A5 road to make it safer. Meanwhile, David Nichol, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Western Area Commander, expressed his condolences and praised the efforts of firefighters who attended the scene. The PSNI has launched an investigation into the incident, and the road remains closed at this stage. PA provided additional reporting on the story.
