(Urdu Point Network۔ / Sputnik – January 19, 2021 -) The governor of the Argentine province of San Juan, Sergio Juniac, announced today, Tuesday, that three people were injured in a strong earthquake that struck the province.
According to the Argentine Seismological Authority, late Monday evening, tremors occurred in San Juan Province, measuring 6.5 degrees (on the Richter scale) at a depth of eight kilometers.

This was followed by frequent tremors, but at great depths and with less intensity.
The governor was quoted by the provincial government website as saying, “Not a single death was recorded. Reports indicate that two children were moderately injured … and one of the adults was seriously injured in hospital.”
Uniak added, there were no major damage to the infrastructure. Some homes were damaged and roads cracked, electricity and water were cut off, but the dire consequences were avoided thanks to the findings, which were reached after the 1944 earthquake.
