Three patients die in intensive care of a hospital in Zghorta, the establishment defends itself of breaches

Three patients admitted to the intensive care unit against the coronavirus at Notre-Dame de Zghorta hospital died at dawn on Sunday under suspicious circumstances, which prompted the establishment to defend itself from being responsible for breaches, calling to await the conclusions of the investigating health authorities.

These deaths seem to recall the death of seven Covid-19 patients in intensive care, following an oxygen supply failure in a hospital in Jordan.

According to the LBCI channel, Notre-Dame de Zghorta hospital on Sunday denied rumors that the deaths of these three patients were linked to a power failure, at a time when Lebanon, which is experiencing an upsurge in cases of contamination in Covid-19 for a week, also suffers from severe power rationing. “Neither the electric current nor the oxygen supply to the patients was interrupted. Alternative sources in an emergency were ready,” said the administration. “A delegation from the Ministry of Health went to the hospital, examined the patient records and the state of oxygen,” added the establishment, which said let the minister speak on this matter .
