Extensive manhunt
The robbery on Domstrasse happened on the evening of February 21. Immediately after receiving the emergency call, the Würzburg police initiated extensive search measures, which led to the provisional arrest of an urgent suspect on the evening of the crime. The investigating judge issued a pre-trial detention order against the youth on suspicion of serious extortion. He is accused of forcing cash to be handed over to him with a knife. An amount of around 45,000 euros was stolen.
Shortly after the crime, there were indications that apparently not only one perpetrator was involved. The detectives secured evidence and evaluated leads, which ultimately led to three more suspects between the ages of 16 and 19 being identified. After the suspicion against her had been substantiated, the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office obtained judicial search warrants, which were carried out in the course of Wednesday.

pre-trial detention
A large part of the cash stolen during the robbery was seized as part of the concerted search operation. By then, however, some of the loot had already been converted into high-quality electronic items. In addition, the officers executed arrest warrants that had previously been issued against two young men. Due to new incriminating investigation findings, the 16-year-old suspect, who comes from Würzburg, also remained in police custody. He was brought before the investigating judge on Thursday, who ordered him to be held in custody.
In the course of the ongoing investigations, it will be checked whether the detainees are still responsible for other crimes in the past. All four suspects have not yet been identified by the police.
