The officers attacked during a corona control in Ixelles received kicks and blows from the bystanders. “One colleague has been injured on the head, another is wrong”, says Olivier Slosse of the Brussels police. “The three have been incapacitated for work for a week.”
Three people were eventually arrested in the incident. “What is clear is that enforcing the corona measures here and there is putting pressure on relations between the police and people in certain neighborhoods,” says Slosse. “But that doesn’t prevent us from continuing to address people.”
