Matthew Perry, who starred in the series Friends, died at the age of 54 at his home in Los Angeles in October 2023. Perry’s autopsy revealed ketamine and its “acute effects” as the cause of death.

A week ago, in mid-August, the US media reported that charges have been brought against five different people in connection with the case that led to Perry’s death. Now three of them have confessed.

Among those who confessed is the assistant who lived with Perry, Kenny Iwamasa. He is accused of passing ketamine to Perry, thereby causing the actress’ death.

Iwamasa gave Perry three doses of ketamine on the day he died. Iwamasa claimed to have given Perry a total of 27 doses over five days. Iwamasa has no medical training, but allegedly followed the orders of doctor Salvador Plasencia.

In addition, a doctor from San Diego has admitted his guilt Mark Chavez. He has pleaded guilty to prescribing ketamine.

The Ketamine Queen

One of those accused of links to Perry’s death is Jasveen Sangha, dubbed the ketamine queen. Sangha was arrested in August for drug crimes for the second time in 2024.

Sangha was arrested as one of the suspects in the case that led to Perry’s death. Sangha is accused, among other things, of passing on ketamine, managing facilities related to narcotics and possessing ketamine. The Sangha has denied any wrongdoing.

Documents seen by Us Weekly reveal that Sangha has tried to cover up his crimes since Perry’s death. In addition, according to the documents, Sangha continued, among other things, the drug trade of ketamine for months after Perry died from ketamine.

According to the charges, the Sangha tried to destroy all evidence when the news of Perry’s death spread to the world. Based on the documents, Sangha would have communicated with Erik Fleming on the Signal service. Fleming acted as a drug dealer between Perry and Sangha.

Sangha had told Fleming to delete the message history between them.

According to the documents, Fleming had asked Sangha in a message that “does ‘K’ remain in the body after death, or does it wash away”. Fleming posed the question to the Sangha after Perry’s death.

Fleming pleaded guilty in court. He has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors to prove that Sangha is actually his drug dealer.

“Several Victims”

According to the documents, Sangha is also accused of several drug deals over half a decade. In March, authorities seized several kilograms of methamphetamine pills, 79 vials of ketamine, illegally obtained prescription drugs and other illegal drugs from a property owned by Sangha. Later that month, Sangha was released on $100,000 bail.

In addition to Perry’s death, Sangha has been linked to another fatal drug case. The Sangha is alleged to have passed ketamine to a person named Cody McLaury. McLaury died of an overdose in August 2019.

According to the indictment against the Sangha, there would probably be more victims. The reason given is the large amount of narcotics sold by the Sangha.

Us Weekly was the first to report on the topic.
