A resident succumbed to the virus at CHSLD Villa-Bonheur in Granby, CHSLD D’Youville in Sherbrooke and at the Sérénité residence in Saint-Ludger.
Also, two outbreaks in private seniors’ residences in Granby are gaining momentum. At the Soleil Manoir residences, 14 residents and 1 employee contracted COVID-19. At the Sélection residence, 12 residents and 4 additional employees received a positive diagnosis.
Red Cross help requested
With the large number of health network employees having contracted the virus, the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS asked for help from the Red Cross to support the staff of two private seniors’ residences affected by outbreaks. This request is being processed at the Ministry of Health.
Also, the Brooks residence in Sherbrooke receives the help of five service assistants from St. John Ambulance.
Sunday, 111 additional Estriens were declared positive for the new coronavirus. The new cases were identified mainly in Sherbrooke and Haute-Yamaska.
One more step towards vaccination
