Last year, players of the game were in high demand for Imola and Portimao, who were eventually on the calendar but were not added to F1 2020. At the launch of F1 2021 on July 16, there will be 20 playable tracks, with Imola, Portimao and the new Jeddah street circuit offered as a free update after launch.
The next big change is the addition of the ‘Braking Point’ game mode to F1 2021. In this story mode, the gamer takes ‘an epic journey’ as they try to climb from Formula 2 to Formula 1. The game mode should give the players a taste of the F1 drivers’ lifestyle, both on and off the track. In addition to the addition of Braking Point, Codemasters has also developed a new career mode, which makes it possible to pursue a career online with a friend. Until now, the career mode was only suitable for one player. F1 2021 also offers the opportunity to start the career on the basis of the current ranking in the real world championship at that time. “We’re creating more choices and new ways to play,” said Paul Jeal, senior franchise director of F1 games. “The Real-Season Start gives players the opportunity to reflect their career on the F1 season. The addition of the two-player career brings new challenges to the game. Players can now choose to play cooperatively and share in the success, or compete for individual glory. ” The latest change is in My Team mode, which debuted in F1 2020. F1 2021 will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S from July 16, making it the first F1 game on the next generation of consoles.
