According to the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), the coronavirus has been diagnosed in another 96 people. That number has risen to just over 50,000. Not everyone is tested and the information sometimes arrives at RIVM a little later, so the actual number of infections and deaths is probably higher.
One of the three “new deaths” died last Wednesday, another last week. RIVM also learned that a patient had died on April 11. Most hospitalizations are from the past few days, but someone who was hospitalized on May 2 has also been added to the list.
Since the beginning of the month, 110 people have died and 73 people have been hospitalized. In late March and early April, at the height of the corona crisis, there were more than 150 deaths and sometimes more than 600 hospitalizations per day.
