Three more deaths and 388 new ones infected in Portugal


Three people died of covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1846. 388 more cases were recorded, most in the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley.

More three people died in the last 24 hours victims of covid-19. According to official figures, released this Tuesday by the Directorate-General for Health, the pandemic caused 1846 killed in Portugal since 2 March, when the first case was notified.

With more 388 registered infections, the total number of covid-19 cases now amounts to 60895, of which are 15903 still active, more 255 than those recorded on Monday.

The bulletin also points to the recovery of 130 people in the last 24 hours, with total recoveries now rising to 43146.

Mortal victims are Two men, one aged 70-79 years old and another over 80 years old, and a woman, also over 80 years old. Two of the victims lived in the North (851 deaths in total) and one in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region (687 deaths).

Lisbon and Tagus Valley register 225 (58%) out of a total of 388 new cases in the country, 31273 infected since the beginning of the pandemic. The North has 119 (30,7%) new patients in the last 24 hours (22049 not total).

The Center Region accumulated more 26 cases (7%), for a total of 5004, keeping up with 254 registered deaths.

In Alentejo, more 11 (3%) infections (998 in total), without changes in the fatal records, which are 22. In the Algarve region, there are now 1171 confirmed cases (more three, 0,8%), keeping the same 17 mortal victims.

The Azores signaled more three cases (0.8%) positive, with the total rising to 227 since the beginning of the pandemic. The number of fatalities, 15, hasn’t changed in months.

In Madeira, more an infection (0.3%), for a total of 173, with no record of fatalities in the “pearl of the Atlantic” since the beginning of the pandemic.
