As previously reported, Michael Schiechl stay in Graz. Others, however, will leave the Styrians. That will affect some legionnaires, but also one or the other Austrian.
As today’s “Kronen Zeitung” reports, goalkeeper Felix Nussbacher will leave Graz and go on loan to another club to gain match practice. However, this means that he will basically extend his contract in Graz, which is due to expire this year.
The loan isn’t a bad decision because they didn’t really count on him in Graz this year. The 22-year-old only started six games last season and has only made one appearance since the end of November – not enough to develop further.
We have already reported that it will be difficult for the Styrians to renew with Dominik Grafenthin, who attracted a lot of attention with his impressive season.
Lukas Kainz is just as popular. The 26-year-old, who has been playing in Graz since 2018, had his best season so far with ten goals and 15 assists and could change. A number of other Austrians are likely to remain with the Styrians, contract extensions should be announced soon. But some legionnaires will leave Graz, which is not surprising.
Of course, the search for a new head coach also has high priority at the moment. However, one thing is clear: there will still be no sports director at the Graz99ers.
