The third phase of the National Immunization Program began with the arrival of two million vaccines from China, with which people over 18 years of age were inoculated.
While this Friday the country received another batch of 187,000 vaccines through the Covax mechanism of the World Health Organization.
The vaccines that arrived in the country are from the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, which developed its vaccine with the University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom.
The vice president was confident that “hugs are getting closer and closer.”
“Today we have reached a new goal! In less than 3 months we have applied more than 3,000,000 doses to combat COVID-19. Soon we will return to social normality, hugs are getting closer and closer, ”Peña wrote on his Twitter account.
The Dominican Republic has at least a thousand vaccination centers distributed throughout the country, where vaccines are applied to the entire population over 18 years of age.
