“Monster”, “Keep Your Head Up” and “Breaking News” from the album “Michael”, which was released in 2010 – the year after the pop king passed away – are all removed from the streaming platforms.

It reports BBC.

After the release came 12 years ago, a Michael Jackson fan went to court with allegations that it was not Jackson himself who sang on these three songs. Some in Jackson’s family have also been skeptical of authenticity.

The lawsuit was not successful, and it has never been proven that it is not the pop icon who sings, but in all the years since, there has been discussion about the topic.

– The easiest way

Sony Music and Jackson Estate say that now that the songs have been removed, it’s not about being fake. Instead, it says in a statement that “this is the easiest and best way to end the speculation related to the songs once and for all.”

«The focus continues to be where it should be – on exciting and new projects to manage the legacy of Michael Jackson», It says in the announcement.

Among other things, a Broadway musical and a film are on the way.

“Monster”, “Keep Your Head Up” and “Breaking News” disappeared from Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal last week.

The other songs on the compilation album are still available for streaming.
