Three people died early this morning in a serious traffic accident at a crossroads south of Rotterdam. The accident occurred on the Groene Kruisweg near the A15 at the Charlois exit. Just before 6 in the morning, the Rotterdam police received a report. Two cars are thought to have collided head-on.
Emergency services turned up in large numbers, a spokesman said NOS Radio 1 Newspaper. In addition to emergency services such as the police, fire brigade and ambulance, a trauma helicopter was also on site.
“First they tried to assist several people, but unfortunately for three people it was no longer possible.”

As far as the police now know, four people were involved in the accident. The fourth person was rushed to the hospital.
The road will remain closed until the police investigate the cause of the accident. It is not yet clear how long this will take. The investigation includes viewing camera images and analyzing tire tracks.
