On Saturday morning there was a serious accident on the A1 in the direction of St.Gallen. A young motorcycle driver fell a few hundred meters after the entrance for reasons that are still unknown. In doing so, she suffered unknown injuries, writes the Zurich canton police. The following vehicles were able to avoid the fallen motorcycle driver. However, a rear-end collision occurred a few meters after the scene of the accident. A delivery truck crashed into the back of a truck. The driver and passenger of the delivery van were seriously injured as a result of this collision. All three injured were driven to the surrounding hospitals after initial treatment by the emergency doctor. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
How exactly the accident came about is unclear. The Zurich canton police and the Winterthur-Unterland public prosecutor’s office are investigating the cause. Because of the accident, the section of the A1 towards St.Gallen had to be closed for around two and a half hours.
