Young families
The Fairytale Forest is one of the oldest theme parks in our country: it opened in 1950 on the slope of the Heunsberg, just outside the center of Valkenburg. Last year it attracted about 40,000 visitors.
The park is mainly aimed at families with young children. It has a route with various scenes from well-known fairy tales and attractions such as a rocking ship, a train and a whirligig.
Because several families had already left the park after the accident, the security region was not able to offer victim assistance to everyone. People who need this because they have seen the accident can contact the municipality of Valkenburg.
