The A16 between Rotterdam and Breda has been closed after an accident involving two cars and an arrow truck. The accident happened on Sunday morning around half past six at Moerdijk. Three people have been injured.
A 26-year-old motorist crashed into the back of the car of a 42-year-old man from Rotterdam. An 18-year-old woman from Utrecht was also in the car with the woman from Ter Aar. The car of the woman from Ter Aar hit the arrow car, which was standing there because of the closure of the A17, while spinning.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, a trauma helicopter was called. A blood test was taken from the driver of the Seat because of possible alcohol consumption.
Detour
Due to the accident on the A16, traffic in the direction of Breda is advised to drive via Gorinchem, via the A15 and the A27. Traffic towards Antwerp is sent via Bergen op Zoom, via the A15 and the A29.
The ANWB warns that the closure of the road will take a few more hours.
