One of the main leaders in the race to win the transfer of Jae Crowder eg Golden State Warriors. Ever since NBA Rumors announced it Phoenix Suns had agreed with his player to find him a new destination (he hasn’t played since), the team from La Bahía showed great interest.
And it is that Crowder perfectly fits the profile of shooter and defender so important in the rotation of any franchise that aspires to the ring. Which, the Warriors, know like no one else.
However, according to Clutch Points, there are a number of impediments making it difficult for the Golden State Warriors to reach a trade deal with the Suns. The three major ones are as follows:
Salary balance
The $10.1 million Jae Crowder will receive this season is easy for nearly every team except GSW to absorb. As a tax payer on luxury, the Warriors may not take on any trade representing more than 125% of the total they send in that trade.
Additionally, NBA rules prevent neither Donte DiVicenzo nor JaMychal Green from being traded until December 15. Andre Iguodala, until December 26th. Kevon Looney, until January 15th.
A midseason effort?
With all the salary Jae Crowder’s arrival would entail, GSW could only enjoy six months at most of the veteran NBA forward. He will become a free agent next summer.
The always complicated arrival of a third team
Under normal conditions, for Crowder to sign for the Warriors, a third team would have to enter the transfer. Eric Pincus, of Bleacher Report, assured that the best potential candidates would be the Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs. However, reaching an agreement that satisfies three parties is always a very difficult job.
