Three hundred people in Montluçon (Allier) against “the imminent threat of the closure of emergencies”

“Zero doctor, zero care”. This is the message sent by about twenty members of the emergency room, the Smur (mobile emergency and resuscitation structure) and the UHCD (short-term hospitalization unit), this Friday afternoon, during a rally in front of the emergency room of the Montluçon public hospital which brought together around three hundred people.

“An imminent threat”

In a message read by union representatives, the staff – “from the doctor to the hospital services agent passing through the secretaries” – alerted the population to “the imminent threat of the closure of the emergency department in the days and coming weeks”.

As revealed The mountaintwenty doctors should be needed to run the service, but there are only 6.6 full-time equivalents today, and the figure should drop to 3.5 on May 1.

The team has already made an appointment with the population in front of the emergency room, every Friday at 2 p.m., “until things change”.
