Three hostages have been freed from a cafeteria in the city of Ede, central Holland, but the crisis is not over yet, the Police reported today Saturday.
It is not clear if the sole kidnapper is still holding anyone, according to this same source.
Police told Dutch broadcaster NOS that the threat persists, as there are still an unknown number of people inside the building.
With the city partially cordoned off and shops still closed, local authorities were urging residents to avoid the city centre.
About 150 homes have been evacuated as a precaution.
