UPDATE 14:28: The Bucharest Gendarmerie reacted after the AUR co-president accused “an intimidation operation” during Wednesday morning.
“In connection with the activity of informing a natural person of the fact that she was sanctioned for a misdemeanor, the General Directorate of Gendarmes of the Municipality of Bucharest makes the following clarifications:
On December 29 this year, around 09:00, the gendarmes from our unit went to the home of the sanctioned person, in order to fulfill the procedure of communicating the report of finding the contravention by posting.
The activity was carried out in accordance with the provisions of art. 27 of Government Ordinance no. 2/2001 on the legal regime of contraventions, with subsequent amendments and completions and took place due to the impossibility of communicating by mail the mentioned report.
At the same time, according to art. 14, para. 1 of the same normative act, the execution of the contravention sanction is prescribed if the report of finding the contravention has not been communicated to the contravener within maximum two months from the date of application of the sanction.
We specify that this communication is made only if the person concerned answers the call of the gendarmes. Otherwise, the report in question is left at the person’s home address, in the presence of a witness “, it is shown in a communiqué of the Bucharest Gendarmerie.
