Vague solutions
“What was striking was that the parties did not actually seek confrontation with each other to clarify the differences or how you could solve the problems together. Here and there Timmermans and Yeşilgöz did try to ask Pieter Omtzigt some questions. He knew the finger in the sore spots, but remained quite vague when it comes to his solutions. On balance, looking at the entire debate, I think he has done the best things.”

Omtzigt clearly highlighted the problems that people are having and many people will recognize themselves in that, says Frits Wester. “And the fact that he remained very vague about the solutions, including about his own role, has for the time being been forgiven by the voter.”
Poll Renze on Sunday
