Three former FPI officials arrested by Densus 88 in Makassar

Three former top brass of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT) was arrested by the Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The arrests of the three FPI officials are suspected of being involved in the case currently involving Munarman.

Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Pol E Zulpan confirmed the arrest of the Densus 88 Team of the three people.

“Yes, that’s right, there were three (ex) FPI officials who were arrested at their respective homes in Makassar,” said the Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Tuesday (4/5).

Those who were arrested each with the initials, AR, MU and AS. However, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police has not been able to describe their involvement with the Munarman case in the criminal act of terrorism. Everything is still in the examination process.

“They have strategic positions, the info is that there is a commander and even a chairman. Regarding the development of the Munarman case,” explained Kombes Zulpan.

The Densus 88 team conducted a search at the former FPI headquarters located on Jalan Sungai Limboto, Ujung Pandang District, Makassar City on Tuesday (4/5). From this search, the Densus Team confiscated a number of pieces of evidence.

The search is also a development of the suicide bombing case at the Cathedral Church, Makassar some time ago. This includes his relationship with former FPI Secretary Munarman, who is currently a suspect and detained by the police.
