Three explosions in one night in Rotterdam

There were three explosions in Rotterdam in one night. The first was on the Kreekplein in the southern part of the city. A Feyenoord café was the target. To extinguish the fire that started after the explosion, the fire brigade had to demolish part of the ceiling. Earlier this week there was also an explosion at another supporters cafe, a few kilometers away. Whether that has anything to do with the Feyenoord-Ajax match next Sunday is unclear.

There was also an explosion in a flat in Hoogvliet. The explosive was in the porch, which was damaged. Some outside doors of the ground floor apartments have also been damaged. Some homes were temporarily evacuated.

The third incident was in the Schiebroek district. There, too, there was an explosion in a porch of a flat and residents of a few homes were evacuated.

No injuries were reported in the explosions. A police spokesperson calls it remarkable that there were three explosions in one night, but says it is too early to speak of a connection.
