Three electric cars were fully engulfed in flames in Oslo overnight to Sunday.

The three cars were next to each other, and all have burn damage.

– Based on traces at the scene, and that there has been no possibility of spread between these three cars, we are investigating whether the fire(s) was set, writes police operations manager Guro Sandnes in an update.

The cars are impounded to carry out investigations, the police say.

The police received a report about the car fire, which happened in the Tonsenhagen area, at 03.06. At 03.29 the fire was extinguished.

There should not have been a risk of spread to buildings in the area during the fire.

– There is a lot of smoke as a result of the fire, so we ask residents in the area to close their windows, the police wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
