Three Dutch productions won awards at the Prix Europa awards ceremony in Berlin on Friday. This applies to the series De Butlers, the podcast Ik ben een Kweekje and the social media platform Club Lees. The VPRO is involved in all award-winning titles.
The Butlers, a four-part documentary about a butler school produced by the broadcaster with BIND, won in the best reality television series category. The podcast Ik ben een Kweekje, about a Dutch woman of Surinamese descent, received the award for the best audio documentary series and Club Lees, the online reading club of the VPRO, was named the best online youth project.
The NTR program Danny ter Plekke: West Bank with Danny Ghosen and the comedy platform Ramadan Bites, also NTR, received an honorable mention.
Fifteen Dutch productions were nominated. Among the contenders were the series De Comhairle Yúdach (EO), Bodem (BNNVARA) and Santos (BNNVARA).
The Prix Europa is the biggest awards festival for the best television, radio and online productions in Europe.
