Three people drowned in the Yantra River over the weekend, police in Veliko Tarnovo said.

A 28-year-old man from the Sevlievo village of Shumata drowned in the waters of the Yantra River. The incident happened on Friday – July 30 in the area of ​​the village of Petko Karavelovo, Polski Trambesh municipality.

The next day, officers from the Veliko Tarnovo Regional Directorate for Fire Safety and Protection of the Population found his body near the place where he had disappeared.

An inspection was carried out at the scene. No traces of physical violence were found.

A similar tragic incident was registered on August 1, shortly after 18:00.

A call was received at the Gorna Oryahovitsa police station that two men had drowned in the area of ​​the city’s railway station. Their bodies were found during the investigation – around 20:00 in the Yantra riverbed in the land of Gorna Oryahovitsa. Their identities have been established.

No initial traumatic injuries were found during the initial inspection. Pre-trial proceedings are under way in all three cases.
