Three dismissals at “Stage 2” for acts of “harassment and sexist remarks”

Three employees of the sports department of France Televisions will be sacked after an internal investigation that revealed facts of harassment and sexist remarks, the audiovisual group said on Friday, confirming information from the newspaper The team. A fourth employee received a reprimand. The identity of the persons concerned has not been revealed.

“These decisions were taken following the conclusions of the internal investigation carried out after a testimony made public (…) reporting acts of harassment and sexist comments ”, said France Télévisions, requested by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

“I was going to ‘Stage 2’ crying”, she confided in the sports daily, explaining that she was marginalized when she returned from maternity leave, until she decided to leave. “For the preparation of the show, no one spoke to me. They put me in a separate office, far from the editors ”, and “I had the impression of a stab in the back”, she said.

France Télévisions, which has been confronted with several cases of sexual or moral harassment since the appearance of the #MeToo movement almost three years ago, claims to apply “With the greatest rigor the principle of zero tolerance in the face of any form of harassment, sexist or discriminatory remarks”.
