The health situation linked to the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be stabilizing in Lebanon where less than 100 new contaminations have been recorded for the second consecutive day. 72 new cases and three deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the report from the Ministry of Health published on Monday. Since the appearance of the pandemic in February 2020, 1,095,685 contaminations have been counted, including 10,364 deaths.
In hospitals, the occupancy rate of beds reserved for patients suffering from Covid-19 is 4%, with 37 hospitalized patients. It drops to 5% in intensive care units, where 21 people are under observation.
On the vaccination side, 49.1% of eligible people received their first dose, while 43.1% are doubly vaccinated. The recall campaign started last October enabled 24.3% of the eligible population to receive an additional dose.
