A new blood collection is scheduled for early 2023, a redon (Ille-et-Vilaine), Thursday 5 and Friday 6 January, as well as in Allaire (Loire-Atlantique) on Saturday 7 January.
Blood supplies “in critical condition”
Donations are all the more important in the current difficult socio-economic context and in the recrudescence of viruses that affect the attendance at donation places. Indeed, French Blood Institute controlled “a 20% drop in attendance for several weeks”.
While “Blood supplies are in critical condition: 20,000 donations are missing to calmly treat patients in the days and weeks ahead”adds the French Blood Establishment, in a press release. “A population leap is imperative to restore the country’s reserves and enable care for patients requiring transfusions. »
How to give?
To go to a place of donation, simply make an appointment on the site dondesang.efs.sante.fr or on the Don de sang mobile app. A questionnaire is available to find out if you can donate blood.
As a reminder, the main conditions for donating blood are to be between 18 and 70 years of age, weigh at least 50 kg and carry an identity document.
