Three countries have not submitted a Recovery Plan to the EC: Bulgaria is among them

Bulgaria, Malta and the Netherlands are the three EU countries that have not yet submitted a completed economic recovery plan to the European Commission. This was announced by a spokesman for the commission at a press conference in response to questions, BTA reported.

He noted that the plans of 16 countries have already been approved by the EC and the opinion of the Council of the EU is expected so that the payment of the first amounts set from the European budget can begin. Five countries have asked for an extension of the two-month deadline for evaluating their plans by the commission – Poland, Estonia, Romania, Sweden and Finland, the spokesman added.

According to him, on Monday, when the deadline for evaluating Hungary’s plan expires, EC President Ursula von der Leyen will not travel to Budapest. The spokesman noted that it could not be predicted whether Hungary would implement the changes requested by the commission by the end of the deadline. Von der Layen travels to each of the countries whose plans were initially approved to symbolically hand them over to local authorities.

IN interview for Dir.bg the acting Deputy Prime Minister for Management of European Funds Atanas Pekanov explained that the Plan for Reconstruction of our country will be submitted in mid-July.

“Implementation can start when the Plan is approved by the EU, ie the realistic scenario is this autumn. But here it is a question of 13% pre-financing – it will come this year, it is about 1.6 billion levs. All other funds will come only in fulfilling the set final goals for the individual projects “, said Atanas Pekanov.
