Since Thursday, two new corona patients have been on the Tergooi Intensive Care Unit. This brings the total number to three. They are all on ventilation. This is reported by a spokeswoman for Tergooi.

She also announces that four hospital employees have been tested positive. They are now in home isolation. One of these employees has been in contact with approximately twenty patients. Most of those involved have already been informed by the hospital. The spokesperson cannot say in which department the infected employee has been active.
In the meantime, the hospital has expanded the capacity for corona patients from three beds in Hilversum to nine. If necessary, the number can be increased to twelve beds. This so-called D3 department is separate from the existing IC. “By choosing cluster nursing for corona patients – that is, you put several patients together – we succeeded in expanding the capacity,” said the spokeswoman.
The patient visit will be limited immediately, she continues. Patients are only allowed to receive visitors for half an hour a day. This does not apply to corona patients, patients in the ICU and patients in the emergency room. “They are no longer allowed to receive visitors at all. Only when a patient is terminal can the doctor decide whether a visit is possible. “
There are currently twelve patients with the coronavirus in Meander Medisch Centrum Amersfoort, six of which are in ICU.
