The Pink City is 3rd in the ranking of the most attractive very large metropolises in France behind Bordeaux and Lyon. This is indicated by the 2021 barometer of the attractiveness of French metropolises and the resilience of territories published by the firm Arthur Loyd. Toulouse is thus down a notch compared to 2020 due to the economic recession in the aeronautics sector due to the health crisis. For Montpellier, despite a first place in the theme Connectivity, human capital and innovation, the city loses two places in the general classification because of, among other things, high housing costs and therefore settles in 5th position. Nîmes jumped 11 places and also climbed to 5th position but in the ranking of intermediate metropolises. A place close to the podium thanks to its very high speed coverage and its exceptional environmental setting.
