Three children under the age of five died this week from Covid-19 without being transferred to a hospital, the interim director of the Headquarters, Efraín Valencia, reported yesterday.

The three children who, due to their age, are still outside the groups that receive the coronavirus vaccine, over five years of age, were treated at their homes and their death was known by the Forensic Research Institute (IDIF).

“In that sense, they have not received care in a health facility, only at home,” said the director of the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) of Cochabamba.

The person in charge of Headquarters preferred not to confirm or rule out whether two of the three children are the ones reported by the Police in Quillacollo. According to the communication area, this determination was made to “not stigmatize”.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday it became known through a police report of the uprising of two children who died in Quillacollo from Covid-19. One less than 5 years old and another 1 year and four months old. To date, the health area of ​​the Mayor’s Office has limited itself to indicating that it has no registration in hospitals.
